Storied Jewelry
Through hand-crafted, artisanal jewelry, Selkies’ Sea Creations expertly repurposes organic treasures from the shores of the Northeast.
Quahog shells, traditionally polished into wampum by Indigenous peoples of the Northeast, carry deep cultural and ceremonial significance. In the 17th century, English colonists in Massachusetts adopted wampum as currency, making it one of the region’s earliest mediums of exchange. Today, these shells remain a lasting symbol of the New England shoreline and Indigenous heritage.
What began as a hobby, Selkies’ Sea Creations now sells its bespoke jewelry in boutiques and markets across Massachusetts.
